MorpHex, The Hexapod with a twist - This 8-Bit Life

Leland Flynn

MorpHex is a hexapod bot with radially-irised arms at its base and its legs are covered by sections of a hemisphere. The arms can fold in or out to increase or decrease the breadth of its stride. It can also tuck its legs in to allow the hemisphere to close which looks pretty awesome and could have some really intersting potential. I’d like to see a second solid (linear-actuated?) hemisphere mounted on top of the bote with two counterweighted motors inside so that it could curl up into a ball (Morphball!? c’mon I had to make a Metroid reference) and roll around!

This is a really neat build I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
